Favorite Patriotic Brews

We typically bring you informational content on software solutions, but this week we are feeling festive and patriotic. As such, we want to wish America a happy (late) birthday by showcasing our favorite beers that give back to this country's military. By consuming these brews, you will not only please your taste buds, but you can also feel comfortable knowing that your purchase money is funded a charitable organization.

Budweiser Freedom Reserve

If you follow the beer industry - or if you just like to watch beer commercials - you probably know this one already. Last May, Anheuser-Busch released a new product along with a tearjerking commercial. As the ad displays, this brew is made by veterans for veterans. For a limited time, the elusive red lager will be sold in stores across the country with profits supporting Fold of Honor, an organization that raises scholarship funds for returning veterans.

Homefront IPA

There's nothing to the beer fanatic like a good IPA, but this one is particularly cool because it also raises funds for various organizations. Since the brew's inception in 2011, Homefront has been produced by a different brewery and supporting a different organization every year. Conceptually, the beer was meant to create a culture of giving back within the craft beer industry. This year, the brew returns to its original brewer, Freemont Brewing Co., and raises funds for Soldier's Angels.

Good to Go Pale Ale

As proud Texans, we had to pick a local brew. Developed by the veteran-owned Texas Ale Project, Good to Go is a malt-tasting beer that raises funds for Honor Courage Commitment, an organization that provides education and resources for veteran entrepreneurs. After successfully starting the Texas Ale Project, the owner of the craft brewery, Brent Thompson, wanted to create a product that could help other veterans achieve their dreams.

14th Star Brewing Co.

For our last pick, we are showcasing an entire brewery! This business started as the daydream of two soldiers in Afghanistan; since then, their culture has been centered upon giving back. Because of the owner's background, 14th Star frequently supports various veteran organizations. However, that is not all they do! 14th Star has also supported various organizations in the past, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Franklin County Animal Rescue.

Whether or not you plan to watch fireworks this weekend, you should stay on the lookout for these beers. This is just a simple and enjoyable way to give back to those who sacrifice the most for our freedom. Happy birthday America!
